Born in 1970, Kriszta Bíró graduated from the Academy of Drama and Film in 1992. She has been a member of the Örkény István Theatre since its foundation in 2004. She holds several professional awards, the most important being the Jászai Mari Prize (2008) and Mensáros Award (2009). She is an intellectual actress who also writes fiction. She has produced several stage adaptations and publishes regularly. Additionally, Bíró edited one of the company’s most successful performances: Women’s West, based on the history of the literary periodical Nyugat (West) from the early decades of the 19th century. Present roles at the Örkény Theatre: Jolán Sárbogárdi (Ibusár, Lajos Parti Nagy); Ilus (Catsplay, István Örkény); Rouelle (The Imaginary Invalid, Molière); and Doctor Goldenthal (Professor Bernhardi, Arthur Schnitzler).
